mystisblom: ([buy a mug // Passion of Christ])

A few minutes ago [livejournal.com profile] acari and I saw "The passion of Christ" or what I call it "The longest and worst two hours of my life"!
This whole movie was ...crap. I think this is a good description, for so much stupidity.
I dont know what Mel Gipson thought when he was planing this movie.
In every minute was at least one slow motion part that I was thinking my screen was defect.
This could not have been on porpose.

And this was only the first minutes, but we where already annoyed as hell. But that wasn't the worst part of the movie, are we the only people who noticed that Mel made satan female? Isnt that the biggest bullshit!
Why is it allways a woman?
But maybe I just missed this part while reading the bible.

But this movie was good for one thing, [livejournal.com profile] acari and I, never had so much fun making jokes about Jesus and his boys. This kisses, the touches, this movie had everything a slash author needs.
We are so going to hell for making to many blasphemic jokes about "The passion of Christ" and "Lord of the Rings" but The passion is a bad copy *G*
You may ask why were joking about THAT but havent you seen the similarity between Jesus and Aragorn in the beginning. The hair, the dirt.
We had a guy looking like John Rhys Davis and one like Orlando Bloom. We had the dark colors and the blue light and the sword fights.
I really expected Gandalf jumping out of the crowd when Jesus carried his cross and screaming "You shall not pass"

I could write a lot more about it but I think thats enaugh for today because Im not in the mood for giving away more minutes to a crap like TpoC"

AND BUY PASSION OF THE CHRIST MERCHENDISE TOMORROW IT COULD BE TOO LATE

I actually thought it was a powerful film and I loved the technical aspects of it. i.e. the directing, the editing, the lighting... all were awesome to me.

The violence? Not so much of the good. Made me sick after a while.

Oh and the devil wasn't a female at all. It was actually played by a man. They shaved his eyebrows and made sure he had very ambiguous sexuality 'cause as mel put it, "the devil has no gender."

You and your gandolf... you crack me up.

Sorry but satan is played by Rosalinda Celentano an Italian actress.

It's really funny that Mel said that because she looked female after all :)

I love Gandalf *G* so I had to do it lol I'm a big lotr fan so :) This might be the reason why I saw so much similaretys in technic, lightning.
But it's cool that you liked it because I think it's interesting to see how you saw the movie.

What was it that made it so powerful in your eyes?

WOAH...i could have SWORN he said it was a guy.... 'cause he said something about the fact that he didn't want it to be a specific gender.

damn, i heard wrong.

i'm a huge lotr dork, so the gandalf comment made me laugh.

as for powerful - yeah, it was pretty powerful to me. i was raised catholic and although i'm not overly religious and don't go to church every sunday, this movie really affected me. i think it might have to do with the fact that the acting was so REAL. it made me feel like i was transported back to that era. i donno...hard to explain.

and i loved the way they portrayed jesus' humanity. i think that was what made it even more emotional for me. i donno, hard to explain. ;)

I'm not at all a religious gg I think the only times i saw a church was my first day at school and when I was in paris, because im a fan of the architecture.
But im not an atheist as well, I think im something in between, so when I die I can tell god "Hey I never said that you dont exist I just wasnt sure" lol.
I never had an baptism, and til now i never needed one :)

I think my whole problem with the movie was that i couldnt conect. You know what I mean? I felt nothing while watching it, and thats a rare thing because I even fell for the orks in lotr lol

I love lotr to death, I saw FotR over 200 times and even visited a con (the last two years).
There I had a really good time with Craig Parker, Mark Ferguson, John Rhys Davis, Brad Dourif and some other acters gg
The most fun I had last year when a guy from weta was there *G* I was sitting there for 4 hours just watching and listening them lol

What did you think about RotK, because I thought it wasnt that good. For me it was too far away from the books.

2 comments in like, five seconds. w00tw00t.

Anyways! I thought RotK was way closer to the books than TTT.

What differences bothered you most?

There was a lot that I didnt like that much, one thing was dev. The houses of healing and the szenes with merry (one of my two fav characters in lotr), I loved those szenes in the book. Another thing that bothers me was that frodo was sometimes a little bit to melodramatic but thats maybe just me *G*

It's right ttt was far away from the books too but there you didnt notice it that much, the same is for fotr. But at rotk I noticed it a lot.

I think the fact that you thought it was a guy (as did my parents) proves that Mel did what he meant to do. It wasn't meant to be a blatantly female role, that woman just happened to be very...nonsexual.

I also loved that they portrayed Jesus as very much human, as he was fully human as well as fully divine.

And, as a sidenote, am I the only one who thinks it's ridiculous to point out that this was a violent movie? The Passion is completely about Jesus being tortured and killed. If someone didn't want to see how truly awful it was for Him, they shouldn't have gone.
