The funny thing is, you know, in the movie, when Haldir arrives at Helm's Deep with his elves and he stands there to say Hi to Theoden, and Aragorn and Legolas come running down. When Aragorn hugs Haldir, you can see Lego in the background. I remember clearly what I thought, sitting there in the audience. I thought "Gods, Haldir's hair looks a lot better than Legolas'!".
And it's not just that Legolas' hair looks kinda greasy. It's his hair is always a mess and it has this grey, unclean look (like he hasn't washed it in weeks). Haldir's is always perfectly straight and freshly combed. And white.
May be that's because you can't see yourself in the mirror in a dark cave??
